    Herat, Afghanistan travel

I’m going to Australia for three weeks tomorrow. Brilliant! Exciting! Yay! But one of the biggest things about my impending travels I’m looking forward to is my reading material: I’ve just bought a copy of Khaled Hosseini’s And The Mountains Echoed. My hedgehog got sick, so I handfed it

OK he’s not really MY hedgehog. He’s an SPCA hedgehog, who I’m fostering. Some kindhearted member of the public brought him in to the shelter after finding him in Island Bay covered in mange. The lovely SPCA vets gave him an anti-mange jab and I brought him home to live on the heated tiles in my bathroom while he recovers. Rose Leslie Ygritte Game of Thrones in Downton Abbey

Context is everything. Check out our favourite Game of Thrones characters in their previous incarnations. Firstly, that incredible (by which I mean, incredible first season only) British teen drama Skins,  which gave us – along with Dev Patel and Nicholas Hoult – Gendry and Gilly. Also known as Joe Dempsie and Hannah Murray. Also...
